Depaul UK is a national homelessness charity with a focus on young people. We exist to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.
We prevent young people becoming homeless by providing shelter and support in a crisis, rebuilding family relationships, and teaching children about the risks of homelessness and where to turn for help.
For those already facing homelessness, we offer expert housing advice, supported accommodation, and programmes of support that develop life-skills, resilience, and an achievable path to independence.
We do everything we can to provide a safe place to call home, a chance to thrive and a brighter future.
Nightstop is Depaul UK’s emergency accommodation service for young people experiencing homelessness. The Nightstop service uses a network of trained and vetted volunteer hosts, ordinary members of the public who offer their spare room for the night, to keep a young person safe and off the streets.
Last year, Nightstop provided 5,871 safe bed nights for young people.
Every day, more than 350 young people become homeless in the UK. In London alone, youth homelessness is up by 41% this year, with many facing cold nights and unsafe conditions. Family breakdown, poverty, and abuse are the main reasons young people leave home. Many are traumatised and unsure where to seek help.
We have volunteer hosts ready to welcome young people into their homes. But the costs of food, fuel, clothing, training and vetting volunteers and providing ongoing support from teams of staff, do come at a price.
This is why we need you to donate.
Your donation today can transform young lives tonight. Your donation today could pay for a safe night with a Nightstop host for a young person.
Your kindness and generosity will make a difference.
It is only with the kind and generous donations from people like you, we can be there to help young people.
Please donate today. 🧡
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference in the life of a young person in need.
This extraordinary act of kindness can be the turning point for a young person in crisis. Once safe, they can get help from our staff to find longer-term accommodation and support to achieve stability in their lives.
We aim to ensure young people leave homelessness behind for good.
