When Jamie, 26, became homeless, Nightstop gave him hope. Your donation can help others like him.
Jamie’s story is one of resilience and determination. Forced to leave home at a young age, he struggled to survive on the streets. Soaked, overwhelmed, and close to giving up, he had nowhere safe to go.
Nightstop provided Jamie with a safe place to sleep and the support he needed to get back on his feet. That was the beginning of a new life for him.
Nightstop is Depaul UK’s emergency accommodation service for young people at risk of homelessness.
“I’m excited for the future. If it wasn’t for Nightstop hosts and the people from Depaul UK helping me, I wouldn’t be here today.” Jamie, 26

Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference to the life of a young person in need.
Every day, more than 350 young people become homeless in the UK. In London alone, youth homelessness is up by 41% this year, with many facing cold nights and unsafe conditions. Family breakdown, poverty, and abuse are the main reasons young people leave home. Many are traumatised and unsure where to seek help.
Depaul UK’s emergency accommodation service Nightstop uses a network of trained and vetted volunteer hosts, ordinary members of the public who offer their spare room for the night, to keep a young person safe and off the streets.
This extraordinary act of kindness can be the turning point for a young person in crisis. Once safe, they can get help from our staff to find longer-term accommodation and support to achieve stability in their lives. We aim to ensure young people leave homelessness behind for good.
This simple intervention relies on our volunteer hosts and you to believe in young people, giving them a sense of hope so they can start to look towards a brighter future
We have volunteer hosts ready to welcome young people into their homes. But the costs of food, fuel, clothing, training and vetting volunteers and providing ongoing support from teams of staff, do come at a price.
Your donation today can transform lives like Jamie’s this winter.
Any amount will make a difference.
