Our peer housing scheme is an innovative scheme designed to allow those with low-support needs to access affordable housing.
The first properties were donated by Commonweal Housing and are offered to young people in employment, education and training.
Youth homelessness figures show that young people are discriminated against in private sector housing.
With the increasing demand for private rentals, there is a reduction in housing supply which is detrimental to anyone already facing financial barriers.
For this reason, Depaul UK is running a Peer housing scheme where young people can transfer their existing skills to each other and share any learning on living independently offering young people with a stable routine an affordable house share. Tenants share the management of the house and work together on understanding their tenancy agreement, their roles in the healthy and safety aspects of living on your own and handling repairs.
