This year has been difficult for many of us, not least the tens of thousands of young people around the UK facing homelessness.

We’re asking your organisation to help us to #ShareHope with the young people we support this winter.

How to Get involved

  • Download our printable heart poster and display it proudly in your organisation’s window in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness. You can also ask individual members of your community group to take part, and display a heart at home.

  • Share hope with a heart – ask members of your group to knit a heart, bake a heart shaped treat, paint, draw or collage a heart, and share it with us on social media using the hashtag #ShareHope.
  • Share your hopes for the future with us on social media – let us know what’s helped you get through difficult times, and what you hope for in 2021. Share your hopes in the form below, or tag us on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram and don’t forget the hashtag – #ShareHope.
Bella's story

“I was at rock bottom, the lowest you could ever get.” – Bella (now 21)

Bella was referred to Depaul UK after violent arguments with an abusive partner led to her being evicted from her property. She’d been in and out of supported accommodation since leaving care at 16 and was struggling to cope. All her ambitions, her hopes and dreams, were stuck on hold.

Through Depaul UK, Bella found a safe place to stay, support with learning to live independently, and the confidence to share and then pursue her goal of a career in beauty therapy.

Now she’s flourishing – and full of hope for a brighter future. And all this is possible thanks to community groups like yours which fundraise for Depaul UK.

I’m hoping for future in which everyone has a safe place to call home and the opportunities they need to achieve their full potential
I hope that in 2021 we will have a chance to reflect on the challenges we faced in 2020, and that we will do more to help and support those who need it the most, including the young people Depaul UK supports. I have hope that we will build a more caring, forward-thinking society that does everything it can for the next generation to succeed.

Fundraise for Depaul UK

Schools, faith groups and businesses can share hope with a young person facing homelessness this winter by fundraising for us.

From virtual races to quizzes, gaming marathons and more, there are lots of ways to raise money virtually – and you could make a real difference.

£15 could provide a safe bed for the night, a listening ear, a hot meal and a shower for a young person at risk of homelessness.

£63 could pay for a DBS check for seven volunteer Nightstop hosts, who open their homes to young people facing homelessness.

£100 could ensure that a qualified counsellor is available to support up to ten young people.
