JOE’s story

Joe became homeless at 18 when his sexuality became a problem for his foster parents.
After spending his childhood in care, Joe had been struggling with bipolar disorder and used drugs to help him cope.
Without a home, he stayed with strangers, at all-night parties, in hostels and on the streets. Eventually Joe was put in touch with Depaul.

How Depaul helped

JUST £12 A MONTH could pay for a young person like Joe to have a safe place to stay, a warm meal, laundry facilities and a listening ear, followed by housing advice, guidance on money management and the costs of getting the ID needed for job applications.
